No 11 ARTS BUS – 26th June to 24th July

On Sundays from 26^th June to 24^th July, the Birmingham Local Arts Forums will be running a variety of free arts activities in their local areas.
There will be music, gardening activities, performances, blossom free decorating, mask making, processions and so much more!

Please Note: There is no Art Bus on Sunday 10th July – Event program unaffected – see below for more details  

Use the map to find out where the venues are and the location of the nearest number 11 bus stop, this is also where our Art Bus will stop.

Below you will find more details about each stop and the local arts venues.

26 JUNE
Mabowunje Harrison
Mabowunje will be singing an electric mis of laid back Sunday morning songs to entertain and delight the passengers.

Blossom workshops with Kinmos. Decorating a wicker heart with handmade blossoms in Kings Heath Square. Kinmos will run workshops for service users throughout June to begin this process, then the public event will involve the public creating their own blossoms to attach.

Art Works Hall Green is a local forum to promote and connect Artists, community groups and people who are passionate about the arts together, across the Hall Green Constituency of Birmingham. This covers the neighbourhoods of Hall Green, Sparkbrook, Springfield, Balsall Heath, Moseley and Kings Heath

17 JULY
Jack Trow
Jack will be single-handedly commentating the entire number 11 route for the listening pleasure of everyone on the bus, he’s brought an extra mic along for any potential co-commentators.

Cultures in Common- celebrating the many cultures, identities and stories of the people living around and visiting Edgbaston Reservoir.

Local groups are working with artists to explore how they creatively share their stories and culture at the event.

Directions update:
Alight at Selwyn Road bus stop on City Road, walk along Selwyn Road and turn left into Gillott Road. A little way along on the right is a Reservoir entry point amongst bushes. Go down the steps and turn right over the bridge to walk a small way along the  path. Gate into the Playing Fields and our event is on the right hand side. We will post signs en route from Gillott Road.

These guys will be performing a set of African and Reggae songs guaranteed to move the heart and stir up the soul.

Vicki MacWinyers aka Pixievic
Vicki lives and loves in Birmingham (UK) with her son and a cat! A musician and poet she writes from the heart, as she sees it, of human experience that is instantly recognisable and although much of her work is personal, intimate even, it speaks to us all. She is a commanding performer who draws you into her physical stillness with not much more than the mesmeric quality of her velvety voice and an occasional raised eyebrow. Vicki is both extremely funny and exquisitely poignant.

Mr Wright blends rhythm and rhyme, through riff based blues with a hip hop edge.’

Janice Connolly
Janice will be bring her comedy character Barbara Nice to the bus chatting to people engaging them in conversation telling stories and having singalongs- Join Stockport housewife, cleaner to the stars, Take a Break reader and Britain’s Got Talent star Barbara Nice
